Gail DiCarlo

Fine Art

There's great joy when my heart pours into one of my paintings and resurfaces on the face of the viewer.  I've been told that some of my best work has made the viewer feel as if they are actually part of the scene.   Detail is great, but without emotion, it can be lifeless.  Adding tonal values through deep darks and shades of light, movement, weather elements and mystery to a painting can create this emotion.  The more I grow as an artist, the more I try to find ways to make my paintings come to life, to become the snapshot of a moment in time....like the steamboat you can hear as it chugs down the lake, or the rushing waters of a waterfall, or the tranquil stillness of a peaceful landscape, or the tugging of your heart when you feel God close during a sunset or at the summit of a mountain.   Always adventuresome, it's my intent that I make this journey an exciting one as I continue to develop and find new ways to delight the viewer!
